Pune Knowledge Cluster (PKC)
The Pune Knowledge Cluster is a Science and Technology enabling organization established by the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor, GoI. PKC aims to bring together academia, R&D institutions, industry, NGOs, Civic Bodies, and Local and State governments to collectively work for the betterment of Pune and its surrounding regions through innovative means, using scientific knowledge and engaging highly skilled human resources.
PKC enables and implements several initiatives to promote STEM education in schools and colleges. The initiatives aim to strengthen education ecosystems through experiential science learning, digital literacy, and sustainability skills. They focus on increasing access to practical, hands-on science and digital education while imparting 21st-century skills such as problem-solving, design thinking, critical and analytical thinking, and innovation. The programs also emphasise teacher training in low-cost model-making, digital pedagogy, and sustainability practices, enabling educators and students alike to apply technology meaningfully in everyday life. PKC’s programs have benefitted works over 400 schools, 10,000 teachers and 25,000+ students across the country.

Manthan – India’s platform for research and innovation
Manthan is an outcome of the efforts of the Strategic Alliances Division of the Office of the PSA. It is a digital platform that aims to build and nurture relationships between industry and academia so that more challenges can be solved faster and better, to meet India’s national targets and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The platform provides a decentralised and democratised environment for easy collaborations between industry, philanthropic organisations, and entities in the scientific research and development (R&D) ecosystem.
Office of Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India
The PSA’s office aims to provide pragmatic and objective advice to the Prime Minister and cabinet on matters related to science, technology and innovation with a focus on application of science and technology in critical infrastructure, economic and social sectors in partnership with Government departments, institutions and industry.
Teaching Learning Centre at IIT Madras
The Teaching Learning Centre at IIT Madras was established in 2009 to address revolutionary changes in education brought by new methodologies and technologies. The center was created to coordinate pedagogy, content development, and effective instruction across the institute.
The TLC conducts successful faculty development programmes that demonstrated strong enthusiasm among young faculty, both for UG/PG education and also conducts periodic sessions for school teachers and administrators(principals).
The Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) focus on three principal thrusts: constructing learning outcomes, implementing active and cooperative learning methods, and developing formative and summative assessment strategies.
The center’s mission is to enhance teaching efficiency and boost student motivation in understanding engineering and science subjects. It connects three vital educational elements: faculty, students, and process to evolve effective teaching solutions.
In the last few years, sessions on game based teaching-learning pedagogy has also been included in the FDPs in line with changing student needs and also in alignment with NEP2020
